  • 1 ½ - 2 tsp maple syrup, or to taste
  • 1 shot espresso (or sub 1/4 cup strong brewed coffee)

* If you do not have all the spices, you can also use our Masala Chai Tea to make a medium to strong brew in a saucepan. Use a sieve to pour into the blender sifting out the tea. Make the rest of the recipe as usual and enjoy!

Golden Milk

This recipe is so good for you and is such a nourishing way to get turmeric into your diet. Because turmeric is warming, it is great for fall and winter as it can be too heating in the summer. The color is like drinking sunshine and we love the vibrancy and benefits of this one.

Golden Milk

  • 1 Tbsp maple syrup
  • Garnish: Cinnamon, Nutmeg, or Cardamom
ADD-INS (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp ginger powder
  • 1 tbsp hemp seeds

* If you do not have turmeric powder you can sub for 1 cup DONA Turmeric Concentrate. Leave out the maple syrup as this is already sweetened, or sweeten to taste.

Directions:

  • In a small saucepan, warm the spring water until an almost boil.
  • Add all ingredients to blender and start on low slowly raising the speed to high, allowing steam to escape.
  • Blend until frothy.
  • Pour into a cup.
  • If you used water as your base, feel free to add a little frothy milk on top.
  • Garnish with cinnamon, nutmeg and/or cardamom and enjoy.

Matcha Latte

Matcha is traditionally prepared by sifting a small amount of matcha into a small bowl along with a small amount of water and using a matcha whisk to mix into a smooth paste. Once smooth, add your hot (but not boiling) water (to help preserve the nutrients and avoid bitterness). Whisking in an “m” motion can help achieve a nice foam texture.

 Ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 tsp matcha powder
  • 1 Tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 Tbsp hot water
  • 3/4 cup milk of choice
ADD-INS (optional)

Directions:

  • Add matcha powder to your serving mug along with sweetener of choice and hot water. (If adding add-ins like maca, ashwaganda, or coconut butter, add at this time.)
  • Whisk with a bamboo whisk or a metal whisk until completely dissolved. If you don’t have a bamboo whisk, you can use a spoon or a metal whisk or even blend the latte in a blender.
  • Once the matcha is completely dissolved, heat and froth your milk. you can whisk vigorously or use a handheld frother.
  • Pour dairy-free milk into your mug. Taste and add more sweetener if needed.
  • Enjoy immediately.
