Elderflower and Aloe Face Polish

Elderflower is mildly astringent and its anti-inflammatory and emollient properties mean that it has long been beneficial for the skin. Combined with cooling aloe vera and soothing chamomile this gentle, refreshing facial polish is suitable for all skin types.

Ingredients:

1 oz elderflower

1 oz chamomile

2 Tbsp aloe vera juice

1 cup honey

Method:

1- Make an infusion using 1 cup of boiling water and half the herbs. Cover and set aside until cool.

2- Grind the rest of the herbs to a powder using a pestle and mortar or coffee grinder.

3- Mix the herbs, aloe vera, and honey, then add the infusion a tablespoon at a time, stirring as you go, until it makes a thin paste (but not too thin that it runs off).

4- Apply to the face and exfoliate into skin in small circular motions with fingers.

5- Use the remaining infusion (with extra water as necessary) to rinse off the paste and tone the skin.
