Recipe: Rose Cacao

We couldn’t talk about love and valentine’s day without including the other heart opener of the plant world, cacao. This is such an easy but luxurious recipe. Cacao is so rich that a little bit goes a long way.

What you need:

  • 1-inch piece raw cacao or 1 tablespoon cacao powder
  • 2 tablespoons dried rose petals/buds
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon honey or sweetener of choice
  • Optional cinnamon and/or nutmeg

To make:

Heat water to 195 degrees and pour over rose petals/buds and cover for 3 to 5 minutes.

Strain and pour the infusion into a blender (optional to add some petals for stronger flavor).

Add the rest of the ingredients and blend on high.

Strain again into your cup and enjoy!

Tips:

Feel free to experiment with your flavors. We love to top off our beverage with more cinnamon and nutmeg or you can simply enjoy the flavors of the rose and cacao together.
