Chamomile Skin Wash

When a friend told me that her toddler had a skin rash and asked me what she should do, I exclaimed: "Chamomile!" Chamomile is amazingly soothing for the skin, and wherever there is an itch or a rash or any skin issues, chamomile is your friend! Here is a recipe for a chamomile skin wash that is gentle, safe and effective.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup chamomile

1/2 cup marshmallow root

1-quart water

Directions:

1- Bring water to a boil.

2- Add chamomile to 1-quart jar and pour water over the herb.

3- Let steep for 20 - 30 minutes.

4- Once chamomile has cooled a little, add marshmallow root and let steep another 30 minutes.

5- Strain the herbs from the infusion using a wire strainer lined with cheesecloth.

6- Use as a wash by pouring onto itchy skin or adding to a bathtub.

7- Althernatively, use as a compress by dipping a clean cloth in the infusion and squeezing out excess liquid.

8- Apply to skin and redip and reapply as often as needed.

We hope you find comfort in this soothing skin wash.
